Trial Garden Visit at Young’s Plant Farm (VIDEO)

Check out Territory Manager Maria Bolinger’s review of Selecta One’s flowers being trialed this summer at Young’s Plant Farm.

Located in Auburn, Alabama, Young’s Plant Farm featured a few standout varieties from Selecta One. See what our team thought about them and how they were successful at the 2025 trial gardens. Maria’s Top Picks were:

NEW Venti™ PinkBurst and FireBurst Dahlias, which are our most vigorous dahlia series with gorgeous double blooms. With a more controlled habit than the competition it’s a top pick for thrillers in flower combinations and mixes. At the trials, we put them in the ground, and they did a phenomenal job withstanding a lot of the rain that this region experienced during the season. Both varieties have big blooms, which can be grown not only in the landscape but also in larger containers.

MiniFamous®Uno Double Light Pink 26 Calibrachoa is an upgrade that has double blooms, which can be described as almost “fluffy.” The plant habit is very strong and well branched and would look amazing in a white container for contrast or with other pink décor.

MiniFamous® Neo Rose Flash and Coral Flash Calibrachoas are two varieties that really stood out in the trials. Their uniform habit and large, single and double blooms work very well together. They both feature double bicolors: Rose Flash with a two-toned eye-pattern and Coral Flash has a nice coral orange two-tone color. They would do well in a medium-sized hanging basket or mixed container.
